Euro-Asian Astronomical Society The International Astronomy Olympiad . . . . . The 2nd Asian-Pacific Astronomy Olympiad December 2006.

The 2^nd Asian-Pacific Astronomy Olympiad to be held in the first decade of December 2006 (a couple weeks later than the 11^th IAO in Bombay).

The main points for the teams formation will be analogous to ones of the 1^st APAO and rules 4.5.1-4. of the IAO Statutes. Changes (if any) will be announced not later than 3 months after closing date of the 1^st APAO.

We hope teams from participating in the 1^st APAO countries (China, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Korea, Asian part of Russia), from traditional participating in IAO countries (India, Iran, Thailand...) to take part in the 1^st APAO. May be Central Asian countries of CIS, Australia, Japan, Singapore and other countries will arrive as well. Observers are welcome to the Olympiad as well.

The second announcement about the 2^nd APAO to be presented later. Nevertheless National Astronomy Olympic Committees may start to form the teams not only to the 11^th IAO but also to the 2^nd APAO.
