Shibaeva Rimma

Publications | CV

Leading Research Scientist, Dr. of Science (Habilitation)

About me:

Rimma P. Shibaeva was born in Vladimir Region, Russia and was educated at University in Nizhnii Novgorod (the former Gor'ky). She received her Ph.D degree in 1962 under supervision of academician N.Belov (Institute of Crystallography , Moscow).

Her doctoral work dealt with the crystal structures of silicates. From 1962 to 1990 she was Research Scientist at the Institute of Chemical Physics (Chernogolovka), where she carried out X-ray studies of the organic paramagnetics - stable nitroxyl radicals. From the end of the sixties she was involved in the team of Prof. I.Schegolev for investigating low-dimensional organic conductors. A lot of crystal structures of the radical anion salts of TCNQ and the radical cation salts of TTT, TSeT, DBTTF, BEDT-TTF etc. have been studied by Rimma Shibaeva. She received her Doctor of Sciences from Institute of Crystallography (Moscow) in 1978. In 1991 she moved to Institute of Solid State Physics, Russian Academy of Sciences (Chernogolovka), where she is working now as Lieder Scientific Researcher. She has held visiting positions at Laboratoire de Physique des Solides of the University of Paris XI (Orsay), the research group of Prof. P.Batail (1994) and at Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University, Japan, the research group of Prof. G.Saito (1998). She is author of more than 260 journal articles. Her current research interests focus on molecular functional materials, in particular, in the field of low-dimensional organic conductors and molecular magnets, understanding the relationship between their crystal structure and physical properties.

Scientific interests:

Molecular functional materials (low-dimensional organic conductors and magnets) investigation, crystal structure and physical properties relationships
